Editorial policy

How we research, write, fund and correct what we publish.

1. Who writes

Content on verantis.online is written and edited by Linda Walker, responsible editor, on behalf of the publisher, CTTSTAV s.r.o.. Every article carries a named byline, a publication date and, where relevant, a “last reviewed” date. We do not publish anonymous articles or content attributed to invented people.

2. How we establish and source facts

3. How the site is funded

verantis.online is funded by affiliate commissions. When you click a partner link and buy something, the advertiser pays CTTSTAV s.r.o. a commission, and your price does not change. Partner links are always labelled “Partner link”, every commercial page opens with a disclosure, and a short note under each partner button repeats that we earn a commission. We may also pay for advertising, for example on search engines, to bring readers to our articles.

4. What we refuse to do

5. Independence from advertisers

Advertisers and affiliate networks do not write, review or approve our content before publication, and they cannot buy a particular conclusion. Our commission does not depend on what we say about a product. Earning commission from a brand does not stop us from reporting criticism of it, as our article on Avast’s privacy record shows. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the brands we write about unless we state otherwise.

6. Images

Our illustrations and diagrams are original works created for verantis.online. We do not use product screenshots, logos or stock photos presented as real use of a product.

7. Corrections procedure

  1. Email info@verantis.online with the subject “Correction”, the page address and what you believe is wrong, with a source if possible.
  2. We review every request against the available sources.
  3. If we made an error, we correct the article and add a dated entry to its update history describing what changed. Significant errors are noted at the top of the article.
  4. We reply to let you know the outcome, including when we decide no change is needed, and why.

8. Review

We review commercial articles when we become aware of relevant changes, and update the “last reviewed” date when we do.
